Port of Camas-Washougal
The Port of Camas-Washougal is a founding partner of CWEDA. As a public Port, POCW is in the unique position of providing the public with a direct way to own and manage important community assets such as waterfront development, airports and business parks.
Their mission is to make strategic investments and develop effective partnerships that enhance the community’s quality of life by bringing jobs, infrastructure, and recreational opportunities to the Camas and Washougal area. There are more than 46 employers located in the Port of Camas Washougal employing nearly 715 employees earning an average wage of $50,000. The Port’s work is a critical component to CWEDA fulfilling its core mission.
POCW successfully manages four vital areas of operation that provide economic and recreational opportunities to residents and businesses throughout the region:
The Port currently maintains a 430-acre industrial park that is home to 46 tenants and 715 workers earning an average wage of $50,000. This industrial park has provided vital space for businesses that has allowed many of them to grow and flourish over time. To meet its mission, the adjacent 100+ acre Steigerwald Commerce Center is under development. The Port has installed the necessary infrastructure for the first 20-acre phase of development. It currently boasts two completed and fully leased buildings: Lot 10 - 21,600 sq ft building and Parcel 3 - 24,300 sq ft building. There are currently six remaining parcels ranging in size from 1.22 to 1.94 acres. Phase two of the development is currently under construction. With extension of Grant Street, parcel 12 and tax lot 14 will become a 50,000 sq ft building in the Steigerwald Commerce Center.
The Port purchased the last 13.25 acres of Columbia River waterfront property in 2012. It is connected to an additional 13.25 acres to the north and 14.5 acres to the east, totallying 40+ acres, of which 27 acres of waterfront is Port owned. The beautiful Washougal Waterfront Park, a 5.73 acre park and a 12-foot-wide paved trail extending 0.7 miles along the waterfront, was completed in Fall of 2016. Killian Pacific owns 13.25 acres to the north of the waterfront property and plans to develop a mulit-use development which may include both retail and residential. Both Killian and the Port will work together on a cohesive development for the entire site. Please follow this project on the Port of Camas-Washougal website.
Located on the Columbia River, five miles east of Portland, the Port welcomes year-round visitors and boaters at their full-service marina. The marina comprises a 4-lane boat launch, 350+ boat slips, 15 wave runner docking stations, a guest dock with electricity, fuel dock, pump-a-head, a floating restaurant, and an upland boat servicing and dry dock storage business. The Port has recently completed a multi-year project that replaces headwalks and pilings and reconfigures the secured-area dock to accommodate larger vessels, including sailboats.
GROVE FIELD AIRPORT
Grove Field is a small recreational airport owned and operated by the Port and is located about three miles north of the city of Camas. The facility offers a fueling station, 77 hangars, and 14 tie-downs. Grove Field is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Port of Camas-Washougal is working for the public and for business.
