Port of Camas-Washougal
The Port of Camas-Washougal is a founding partner of CWEDA. As a public Port, POCW is in the unique position of providing the public with a direct way to own and manage important community assets such as waterfront development, airports and business parks.
Their mission is to make strategic investments and develop effective partnerships that enhance the community’s quality of life by bringing jobs, infrastructure, and recreational opportunities to the Camas and Washougal area. There are more than 46 employers located in the Port of Camas Washougal employing nearly 715 employees earning an average wage of $50,000. The Port’s work is a critical component to CWEDA fulfilling its core mission.
POCW successfully manages four vital areas of operation that provide economic and recreational opportunities to residents and businesses throughout the region:
The Port currently maintains a 300-acre industrial park that is home to more than 40 tenants and 715 workers earning an average wage of $50,000. This industrial park has provided vital space for businesses that has allowed many of them to grow and flourish over time. To meet its mission, the adjacent 75 acre Steigerwald Commerce Center is under development. The Port has installed the necessary infrastructure for all 19 lots to be pad ready. It currently boasts three completed and fully leased buildings totally more than 95,000 sq ft. Four of the lots have been sold and currently one sale pending. There are 11 remaining parcels ranging in size from 0.918 to 5.839 acres.
The Port’s goal in creating the Waterfront Vision and Master Plan was to design for the future what could be a lively, walkable place with community gathering and character spaces, commercial, retail, mixed-use, and residential uses. The design and function for the waterfront development would honor the natural beauty and history of the site and the community; along with supporting the creation of a local and regional identity for the Cities of Washougal and Camas.
